Position Announcement
Assistant Professor and Director of Flight Education in the Department of Professional Aviation
Full-time, tenure-track, 12-month position. Starting Immediately.
Responsibilities: Serve as the Chief Instructor for Private, Instrument, Commercial, Multi-Engine, CFI/CFII/MEI certificates and ratings in the collegiate FAR 61/141/142 programs. Teach a minimum of five undergraduates courses annually; conduct research in the flight training/human factor areas; and serve on department, college, and institution committees as needed.
Qualifications: Required: Master’s degree; current CFI/CFII and can meet the minimum qualifications for FAR 141.35 for the Chief Instructor; at least 3-5 years of significant and relevant flight instructor experience (military acceptable). Preferred: Doctorate degree; participated in scholarly research and publications; prior experience as FAR 61/141 and/or 142 Chief or Assistant Chief Instructor.
