COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS
DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SCIENCES


POSITION: Assistant Professor of Political Science. Tenure track, nine-month position. Review of applications begins February 15, 2008, and will continue until the position is filled. Starting date, September 1, 2008.

QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Political Science by September 1, 2008.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach introductory course in American politics and advanced courses in political theory (and possibly American politics). Responsibilities include student advising, research and scholarly activities, and service on departmental, college and university committees.

THE UNIVERSITY: Louisiana Tech is a selective admissions university and offers a broad range of fully accredited undergraduate degrees in a variety of majors and doctoral programs in areas of specified expertise. The Department of Social Sciences offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. The campus is located in Ruston in north central Louisiana, 70 miles east of Shreveport and 30 miles west of Monroe on Interstate 20. The geographical location of Ruston makes it an important trade and medical center for an area of over 100,000 people.
