 Position Announcement

Louisiana Tech University is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual for the position of Chief Operating Officer for Athletics. This is a senior-level management position reporting to the Athletics Director and the University President. The COO is responsible for the overall development and administration of 16 sports at the Division 1 A level in the Western Athletic Conference. In addition the COO will supervise fundraising activities, provide leadership to all administrative and coaching staff and direct and oversee the planning and development of all facility improvements and facility operations including buildings, equipment, and fields. A Bachelor’s degree and proven experience in a university athletics program, business enterprise or related field required. A commitment to gender equity, diversity, NCAA compliance and graduation of student-athletes is also required. The successful candidate will have proven leadership skills, experience in managing substantial budgets, excellent verbal and written communication skills and success in revenue generation. The ability to interact with senior College administrators to negotiate the needs of the Athletics department and to lead a diverse work force is also preferred.
