POSITION: Assistant Professor of Music/Guitar/Music Theory

QUALIFICATIONS: Terminal degree in music in hand, A.B.D. considered; teaching experience on the college level is preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Within the structure of the Department of Music, School of the Performing Arts, the candidate will:

• Teach private lessons in guitar and courses in guitar and guitar methods
• Teach inside music theory curriculum based on candidate’s qualifications and preparations
• Perform on and off campus on a regular and on-going basis
• Recruit students into the guitar studio
• Establish and accomplish teaching, research, and service goals
• Teach other courses within the curriculum based on candidate’s qualifications

The candidate must show evidence of effective college teaching, excellent public relations skills, the ability to work closely with students, and a commitment to the highest artistic and performance standards.
